New versions of olh and the dash menus using htmlview are in place and
will take effect when the respective volumes propagate. Could someone
in operations place check to make sure that system.help will get
released sometime? I didn't see it in the nightly backup list. If it
is not automatically released we should do it manually sometime between
tonight and tomorrow morning.
Please feel free to try these changes today. (Or should I say "Please
try these changes today"?) To start up the new dash, exit your current
dash and type
dash -menus /afs/.athena/system/config/dash/Dash.menus.80
Home pages on the courseware menu with the exception of the Japanese web
pages now use htmlview, as do the Athena minicourse items. If
addition to the htmlview switch, I removed gmats from the courseware menu --
it does not run on any supported platform.
To invoke the new olh script, type
/afs/.athena/system/help/arch/@sys/bin/olh
If you are on a DECstation, did not have a running browser, and do not
personally set the environment variable WWW_HOME, "HOME" will be set to
the top of the olh heirarchy. In all other cases it will be the value of
WWW_HOME or http://web.mit.edu/.
