We have mentioned several times changing olh to use htmlview next week.

Dot has prepared a version of olh to allow us to make that change.

There are at least two user-visible side-effects of her version.

1. The tty startup message (Starting Mosaic World Wide Web Browser...)
is gone. The problem is that it is difficult to provide a message that
matches what is happening (you might get a new browser or you might
get info in your current browser).

2. The existing olh system sets the default "home" page to the olh
page that you are starting with. Since we are now going to display
the information "inside" your existing browser (if you have one), it
seems appropriate to leave the user's choice of home pages alone.
I.e., pushing the "home" button in the browser will go to the user's
choice of home page, not olh.

There still doesn't seem to be an announcement in the OLH pages about
the change to htmlview. At this point, the choices are:

	- postpone the change
	- go ahead with the change

I propose to go ahead with the change, asking the members of this team
to alert their organizations that this change is happening. That way
when the consultants or someone gets a question, they'll know what is
happening.

I think dot also has the changeover of dash to use htmlview ready, and
that will be "released" at about the same time.

I realize that neither of these changes is part of the "release", but
I think this team can provide a useful way to spread the information
that these parts of the computing environment are changing.

Thanks
Mike Barker
