Test.dialup.mit.edu has been upgraded to Ubuntu Precise (12.04). This
is the version of Ubuntu that was installed on the machines in the
clusters this past summer.
While we've done a fair amount of internal testing, it would be helpful
if additional folks could try it out. Please consider using
test.dialup.mit.edu for your day-to-day dialup.mit.edu needs. Problems
should be reported to bug-dialup@mit.edu.
It is okay to point users at test.dialup.mit.edu as long as they
understand that it may be less stable than athena.dialup.mit.edu, and as
long as they are able and willing to submit reports for any bugs they
discover while using it.
The current plan is to upgrade the athena.dialup.mit.edu pool of
machines over IAP.
