It could be. We have open a ticket
https://debathena.mit.edu/trac/ticket/1239 where we erroneously assume
that the network interface is named "eth0", but I couldn't say for certain
that the ticket corresponds to your problem without looking at your
machine.
If you just want to have debathena on the machine, it might be easiest to
install ubuntu from a CD, and then run the install-debathena.sh script
from http://debathena.mit.edu/install (instead of trying a PXE install).
If you do want to stick with a PXE install, we could probably come up with
some more things to try.
