Re Precise dialups:
I've wanted to work on these for the past month or two, but there's been
too much high priority work coming through all summer. That hasn't
stopped, but I think it's slowed down a little. I'm hoping to start
working on it more actively late next week (but every time I think that,
something urgent pops up).
I'm hoping to have somethin pre-test.dialup for release-team to look at
by mid-October, and test.dialup around the end of October, but I'm not
going to promise anythingt right now.
Relatedly, from your standpoint is the zulu replacement a higher
priority, or the dialup work?

Geoff is finishing up the debhelper work and has submitted a merge request upstream. I'm still waiting for feedback on #867, but will timeout and submit it upstream soon. In particular, feedback on how best in a rules file to indicate that c-p-d should not change anything, but only install its cleanup code in the maintainer scripts to cleanup from older versions. Right now, this is "Set DEB_DIVERT_PACKAGES appropriately".
