A correction to this, we will _have to_ use a DVI connection to the 
monitor.  It doesn't matter whether it's using the DVI connector or the 
DisplayPort one, but Linux does not correctly sense the size of the 
monitor when using the DVI->VGA adapter, so the desktop ends up either 
skewed or undisplayable.

So we will need to find the DVI cables that came with the original 
monitors.  If they were disposed of when the monitors were first deployed, 
we'll need to order more.
