At the Athena release meeting today it was decided that a script should
be written for generic viewing of URL's. The script should use an
existing netscape or Mosaic if available, otherwise start up a new
browser.
I have written a script to do it. To try it,
setup infoagents
wait for the xterm to pop up, and in it type
htmlview http://web.mit.edu/
I have tried this with/without Mosaic/netscape already running. The
testing I am most interested in having others try relates to icons:
Mosaic will not deiconify itself (at least under twm) if it's running
and you ask it to open a new URL. Netscape will do the right thing
under twm, but it would be wise to try other window managers.
