This machine is currently running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). Ubuntu 9.04 was desupported by Ubuntu at the end of October. This means that your workstation will no longer receive security updates or bugfixes, so we recommend you upgrade your workstation to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) as soon as possible. ** In the future, to ensure you continue to receive important information about supported versions of Debathena, please add yourself to the release-announce mailing list. This list is very low-traffic, with only 4-5 e-mails per year. You may subscribe to the list at: https://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/release-announce If you choose to upgrade your workstation, please note that the upgrade is a two-step process: you will need to first upgrade to Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), and from there to Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). Alternatively, you may choose to backup any local data, and re-install your workstation. Instructions on upgrading your workstation can be found at: http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/TgVa As with any software installation or upgrade, we recommend that you have a recent backup of your locally-stored data before beginning the upgrade process. We also recommend you fully test any important software before upgrading, or consider installing a new, separate Lucid workstation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send e-mail to debathena@mit.edu. Sincerely, Jonathan Reed IS&T Athena Release Team release-team@mit.edu
