Joyce and Anne were not able to attend due to a conflict with a DITR/DS monthly meeting. Future release-teams will try to avoid the first Friday of the month.

> Agenda:
>
> 1) Decide who the audience is for PXE installs and adjust accordingly. If it's going to be for regular users, I think we only need options 1 and 2 on the main menu. Anything else should hide behind an "advanced options" menu. The TTY mode installer for stock Ubuntu kind of sucks for novice users.

We decided the initial PXE menu should offer a cluster install and "Advanced Options". Advanced options can have everything else, including some things that are currently hidden, like the forced 32-bit cluster install. We can do some wordsmithing to convey the appropriate level of DESTROYS DESTROYS DESTROYS.

Metrics on who uses what install method would be nice. We should come up with a way to get them.

It was noted that debathena-workstation is a supported and popular configuration, however we still want users to install Ubuntu first, because getting Ubuntu installed and set up allows them to use standard network configuration tools and ensures the base OS works before we put Debathena on it. The whole point of Debathena is that it's not a platform per se, and we shouldn't treat it as such by offering a unified installer for the non-cluster option.

> 2) OI is amenable to looking into Thunderbird autoconfig with autoconfig.mit.edu. Anyone want to take this on?

Perhaps a SIPB prospective could do this?

> 3) /bin/sh != /bin/bash, and this is dooming some 3partysw

Scripts which assume Bash but have /bin/sh in the shebang line are broken, and should be reported to upstream vendors. This sucks, but it's better than doing horrible things with /bin/sh.

> 4) Other business

alexp: New mitscheme - should we deploy? Someone should e-mail schemedev@, which owns the locker.

alexp: ATI-driver machines in W20? They have not been deployed. jdreed will deal.

alexp: Users want the RealPlayer plugin. Presumably this is simple, and it's possible the version in infoagents still works. amb notes that rbasch previously poked at Real Player and might know more.

lizdenys: we did not hear back from Mech E about what (if any) courses use Pro/E.

Some RAM vanished from Hayden, where the machines are not anchor-padded. We don't know why they're not anchor padded. jtguy will obtain padlocks to lock the cases.

jdreed: We totally failed to notify Jaunty users that their world ended in October. jdreed will deal, and will also reach out to AThena 9 users.

> 5) Trac review
