I think we normally preface the actual combo change with an extended MOTD to let users know that it is coming. Given that we are only now deciding on a new combo, and October 1st is the day after tomorrow and also a Friday, I'd like to ask that we postpone the actual combo change until November 1st this year, and use the intervening time to advertise the upcoming change. This will give students ample time to prepare, and hopefully will avoid a lot of folks having to scramble for the new combo on Friday after not being able to get in.
