Athena dialup changes continuing

To ops with others blind copied,
As of this morning, test.dialup (aka "contents-vnder-pressvre") goes to a
DebAthena virtual server. I have nologin'ed two more dialups to drain
them for reincarnation early next week as Linux servers. We'll monitor to
make sure that the four remaining Sun servers do not get overwhelmed until
the changeover.
To advertise the changes to the Athena dialup environment, I have updated
the message-of-the-day on the Suns, as well as posting the following blurb
to 3down Academic.
If there any questions about all these changes, please direct them to
bug-dialup@mit.edu so that we can continue to track.

PLEASE NOTE: ATHENA DIALUP SERVICE CHANGES
As part of a larger effort to phase out Athena 9 with Debathena, IS&T is
replacing the older Sun Athena dialups with newer Linux-based ones. These
new systems are available now by connecting to "linux.dialup.mit.edu."
As of Wednesday, January 27th, those systems will replace the Suns
as the systems answering to the athena.dialup.mit.edu service name.
To aid in the transition, the older Solaris Athena servers will remain
available until July 1st, 2010 by connecting to "sun.dialup.mit.edu."
