The Athena 9.4.55 patch release is currently scheduled for the evening of
Monday, 31 August 2009. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Pine and Evolution will warn Exchange users before starting and
suggest alternative mail readers, since they will not work as
expected under Athena 9.4.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
This is likely to be the final Athena 9.4 patch release, as it is being
replaced on the linux platform with Debathena (formerly known as Athena 10)
and the Solaris platform is being phased out.
Debathena is the technology powering the newest Athena workstations
running Ubuntu Linux, as well as hundreds of Debian and Ubuntu desktops
and laptops across MIT, by providing Athena workstation software via
Debian packages and repositories. See http://debathena.mit.edu for more.
