Meeting Notes:

Athena Release Team, Tuesday 21 April 1:30 in W91-250

Next meeting will be in one week, April 28 at 1:30 in a room TBA.
(amb will get a room and announce it.)

  Agenda will be:
	Transition of Release Team
	Debathena check-in.

Present: wdc, broder, rbasch, amb, gettes, jdreed, aurora, geofft,
alexp, sml, jweiss

Agenda:
	1. Athena 10 Status check-in.
	2. Beginnings of planning the transition for Bill's departure.

Action:

Discussion of transition issues: Who will be:
	Owner of Monthly Status Report
	Owner of Top 10 List
Owner of all the wiki and project management "Story".
	Meeting convener.
	Shepherd.

Debathena needs a project manager. Release Team will talk to Oliver.

----

Issue:

Athena transition from IMAP to Exchange for incoming student default:

If Hesiod information provided for Exchange users who never had an IMAP
PO changed from "POP exchange.mit.edu" to "POP imap.exchange.mit.edu",
almost all existing Athena clients should do the right thing.

Can we make "user.mail.mit.edu" work for all MIT users?

* jweiss has the action item to talk to zacheiss about these two
aspects.

Q: What user experience with WebMail for Exchange users makes most
sense?
A: Webmail should direct Exchange users to OWA.
The current obscure error is the worst experience.
Webmail->IMAP->Exchange is technically possible but probably not a good
user experience.

Q: What should be the user experience for other Athena email clients?
A: We may want to have the "Mailer icon" on the panel offer to send
people to OWA instead of Evolution. Lets think about this some more.

Discussion of how usage of Mail User Agent might be most accurately
measured.

----

Debathena Status:

To be done offline, and prepared for next week's Relese Team meeting.
A couple status updates to mention now:

* amb has action item to update Top10 wiki page.

Quickstation installation agreed upon for 3rd floor in W20.

debathena-cluster dependency on debathena-thirdparty goes to production
tomorrow.

Bill
