My memory is getting dim on this, but I think there used to be a distinction
between "friendly test" and "staff test" (and maybe even "field test").
Whatever it's called, the the idea is the same: To participate in a test,
a workstation has to be in the right cluster (in moira) at the right time.
For example, if we get the machines of people who want to participate
in the staff test into the "stafftest" clusters, then on the night before the
staff test is to begin, we simply make one change in moira (to make the clusters
get the test packs, instead of what they currently use), then the test begins
for those workstations after the next Hesiod propagation.

In your mail to people, you can tell them how to check the cluster info
for their workstations; if they're already in a test cluster and want to
stay that way, or if they're not and they want to stay that way, they
don't have to do anything. If they want to change, they should send mail
(to you? to Matt? somewhere) so that their workstation will be in the
right cluster at the right time.
