Hi.

Has something changed recently so that the MIT name servers no longer
accept connections on TCP port 53? This causes a problem for the
Athena BIND server, which connects via TCP when refreshing its mit.edu
stub zone from the master servers. Currently a failure to connect to
any master has broken the Athena Sun install (since the named running
in the install miniroot must refresh the zone at start-up); I fear
that we may be facing a more widespread problem, as the stub zone data
expires and cannot be refreshed on other Athena systems (on one of my
machines, it looks like it was last refreshed on Dec. 6 at 15:15, with
an expiration of just under 6 weeks).

If this change was intentional, is it possible for it to be reverted,
at least until we can figure out how to resolve this problem?

Thanks,
Bob
