I've updated the Java Development Kit on Athena to 1.6.0_03 and made
it the default (and also updated version 1.5 to 1.5.0_13) due to some
significant security problems reported recently.
Also, in order to make it easier for users to locate recommended pre-1.6 JDK
versions, I've created two new symlinks in the java base locker that point
to the recommended version lockers: 14current and 15current (but I didn't
update 1.4 as that version is now pretty dated).
From my message to users:
The 1.6.0_03 Java Development Kit has been installed and made the
default to correct some major security flaws. It should otherwise be
very similar to the prior 1.6.0_02 release.
To use it:
add -f java
followed by one of the usual Java commands:
javac myfile.java (etc.)
