Hi,
I've been trying to update TSM backup on Athena to 5.4.1. After quite a bit
of effort I've concluded that it can't be installed in AFS. Hence the
following question/request- could it be installed in the release?
On Suns, it's a couple of Sun packages; on Linux, 2 rpms. It's about 100 meg
on each platform, and several files need to be suid root. I can supply the
installation packages if this can be done.
If not, it looks like the only alternative is for users to install it
individually, which in principle should be doable since all machines
using it should be private; I'd prefer to do it in the release if possible-
please let me know if it can be done that way or not.
On a different but similar topic, I had asked if the following link could
be included in the release for Solaris mono 1.2:
/opt/mono -> /afs/athena.mit.edu/software/mono/current
I missed getting a reply, but recent mail from Greg to someone else implied
that this was a go. Can you confirm, and if yes, when it will be out?
Thanks,
Alex
