The Dell gx745 machines will not install Athena as delivered; two changes
need to be made. This is a one-time-only process.

Assemble and power up the machine as usual. When the initial splash
screen comes up hit F2 to enter config mode.

In config mode, down-arrow to "Drives" and hit Enter, then down-arrow to
"SATA Operation" and hit Enter again. Hit right-arrow to highlight
"Legacy" and hit Enter again to accept. (This will let the current
installer access the disks.)

Then, down-arrow to select "Onboard Devices" and hit Enter, select
"Integrated NIC" and hit enter, then right-arrow to "On w/PXE" and hit
Enter to accept. (This enables network booting of the installer.)

Finally, hit Escape to exit, right-arrow to "Save/Exit" to save your
changes and hit Enter one last time to save and exit.

The machine will then reboot and you can use the normal install sequence
of hitting F12 for the boot device menu, "Onboard Network Controller" for
the boot device, and so on.

(Heather, can this get posted as a stock answer?)
