[Apologies for the late notice. I tried to send one Monday and it
doesn't seem to have made it out.]
The Athena 9.4.27 patch release is currently scheduled for the evening
of Monday June 26. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* OpenAFS is upgraded to 1.4.1.
* Gaim will behave more gracefully when the user has no tickets.
* bash login shells started outside the user's homedir will work.
* Firefox is updated to version 1.5.0.4.
* Mozilla is updated to version 1.7.13.
On Linux:
* ctrl-alt-backspace will not abort the X server on cluster machines.
On Solaris:
* Unclean AFS cache partitions will be recreated at boot time.
* Patches 119686-07 and 122032-01 are added to reflect DST changes.
* Netra X1s installed at 9.2 or earlier can now update to 9.4.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu. Please
report any bugs you find with the "sendbug" command.
