This is a reminder that the Athena 9.4.21 patch release is currently
scheduled for the evening of Monday December 12. Changes include:

On both platforms:
  * The JDK is upgraded to 1.5.0_06 to fix security holes.
On Solaris:
  * Users of the Crux theme should no longer experience application
    instability.
  * Debuggers should no longer hang on startup or when killing
    processes.
  * Sun patches 119059-09, 119578-10, 118822-23, 121012-01, and
121095-01 are applied to fix the above issues and some security
    holes.

Normally, we would not have a patch release between drop date and the
end of finals, but we are releasing these targeted changes to fix
serious security holes in the JDK and to address new bugs introduced
by the Sun patches in the 9.4.19 release.

If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".

Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu. Please
report any bugs you find with the "sendbug" command.
