Although Athena on Linux is based on the same version of Red Hat
Enterprise Linux that is supported and recommended by IS&T, there have
historically been many differences in the approaches to supporting
Athena and non-Athena Linux at MIT.

A step has been taken to make those two approaches a little more
similar:

Athena, like non-Athena Linux now has a Product Front Door web page:
http://itinfo.mit.edu/product.php?vid=691

In response to customer demand for greater simplicity and clarity, there
is a new, more convenient, and better documented network-only install
method for Athena documented here:
http://itinfo.mit.edu/article.php?id=7938

If you're on campus, you don't have to make Athena install media any
more if your PC supports PXE.

Share and enjoy,
