Notes from last week
Attending: miki, craig, greg, bill, carla, mark, bruce, tom, gary, kevin
1. Solaris 2.4
a. putting the /usr/lib/ links back
b. beta?
-packs built, need sanity check, should be out no later than 5/15
-links replaced in /usr/lib since imake templates use them
-miki planning to move install servers to 2.4 (sun provided nfs_dlboot)
2. IRIX 5.3
a. ChemE says newest BioSym requires 5.3 and takes 1.2 gig
are we going to upgrade?
-not sure what plans are, but this clearly indicates need to move to 5.3
-and some of the impacts this will have.
-one concern is that BioSym apparently recommends 400 megabyte minimum swap,
-and we are running with 200 megabyte.
3. emacs19
a. documentation/training?
-it seems unlikely that posters can be put in the clusters now to explain
-emacs19 usage. Instead, we're going to have to depend on good release notes
-and posters in clusters later.
-mh/mime if there are sensible easy things to put in mhn_defaults, we
-need to put them together soon.
-telnet--there needs to be some work to line up the telnet locker and the
-source tree. Bruce and Greg will deal?
