Our Linux-AFS stability problems appear to be resolved, and we are
able to move the release date up by a week from our earlier
prediction. So:
The Athena 9.4 public release is currently scheduled for the evening
of Monday August 22 for Solaris and the evening of Tuesday August 23
for Linux. Machines set AUTOUPDATE=true should take the update to 9.4
automatically.
To manually update an AUTOUPDATE=false machine to the 9.4 release
after it goes out, do a console login (^P at the xlogin prompt) as
root and run:
SOLARIS:
detach -a
attach -O athena-sun4sys-94
update_ws
LINUX:
update_ws 9.4
Release notes are available through the "help" command.
