1. AFS
AFS for Linux as it currently exists in the early release is too
broken for a public release.
For the moment, we will try downgrading to the sources we used in
9.4.6 (based on OpenAFS 1.3.82) using the new Red Hat kernel. If that
doesn't work well, we can postpone the 9.4 release to IAP if
necessary.
We have rescheduled the public release target date to August 9 in
light of this issue.
2. Lost mail
Changing sendmail to deliver mail in the background by default has
made it impossible for MUAs to detect when outgoing refuses a message
and also its bounce (which happens if the message content is above the
maximum size).
Jonathon will check to see if it is possible to fall back to a bounce
without the message content in this case. But we suspect that's
difficult. We agreed that it is probably better to leave this case
broken than to make every mail delivery subject to outgoing's
sluggishness.
3. Meeting time
Future meetings will be at 2pm, same day and place.
4. Status report
Sent under separate cover.
