The Athena 9.3.17 patch release is currently scheduled for the evening
of Monday January 17. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* The quota command should work better.
* A permissions bug is fixed in the local-lockers framework.
* There is a fix to sendmail.cf for the direct delivery case.
* We no longer tamper with the shell's default history size.
* In the systembashrc, we no longer set the hard coredumpsize limit.
* The JDK is upgraded to 1.4.2_06.
* A new IMAP mail command "mitmailappend" is available.
* Some bugs in Nautilus trash folder handling are fixed.
On Linux:
* We are now using RHEL 3 update 4. Many RPMs are updated.
On Solaris:
* /usr/sfw/man is now indexed.
* Sun patches 113886-26, 113887-26, 112785-44, 117171-12, and
116774-03 will be applied.
Because of changes to the way Red Hat packages gtk, you may see the
following error message during the update of a Linux machine:
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.14276: line 2: gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders: command not found
error: %postun(librsvg2-2.2.3-2) scriptlet failed, exit status 127
This error message is harmless.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu. Please
report any bugs you find with the "sendbug" command.
