Here is a platform-by-platform rundown of the current state of
Transcript. There are still some details to be added, as described in
my previous message (they're mostly relating to manpages).

A note on tests: I tested all of the components I could. Anyone have
a Tektronix 4014 or Diablo 630 plotter format file? =)

OS: Solaris 2.3
COMPILER:	/build/bin/cc [which is actually gcc from compiler-80 locker]
COMPILER NOTE:	The .build script makes sure we use /build/bin/cc on
Solaris, so we don't lose due to /usr/athena/bin/gcc
		even under 7.7.
STATUS: Builds cleanly.
All tested programs seem to work properly.

OS: Solaris 2.4
COMPILER:	/build/bin/cc
COMPILER NOTE:	There should be support for sun4m_54 in compiler-80 locker.
STATUS: Builds cleanly.
All tested programs seem to work properly.

OS: IRIX 5.2
COMPILER:	cc [vendor]
STATUS: Builds almost cleanly: the IRIX version of install is
weird and non-BSD-like, so I had to kludge things to
get a working one. Craig said we'll have a working
		BSD-style install for 8.0. =)
Enscript and psroff seem to work properly.
psnup, pslpr and psdraft produce *weird*, buggy
		printouts. (Cause is currently unknown.)
PLANS: Talk to people to see if using gcc is an option.
See if the problem goes away on 5.3 (yeah, I wish).
		Track down the bug.

OS: IRIX 5.3
STATUS: not tried

OS: Ultrix 4.2
COMPILER:	cc [vendor]
COMPILER NOTE:	Compilers that aren't really ANSI compliant suck.
STATUS: Builds cleanly after integrating some kludges into the
		source tree. =)
All tested programs seem to work properly.

OS: AIX *
STATUS: not tried, since we don't currently build Transcript on AIX
