"Athena tar" was a tar that was build for the BSD (VAX and RT)
platforms. It was never, intentionally, built for any other platform,
and shouldn't be. But it did inadvertently get released a couple of
times and superceded the vendor tar, with ugly results. I just took it
out of the picture to make sure that would never happen again.

I was removing a lot of old crufty stuff, and while I was at it (and
in a very bad mood) I punted Kerberometer, which has always been a pet
peeve of mine that I think never should have existed. I had hopes that
noone would notice its absence, but fears that someone would complain
loud enough and make me put it back.
