This is a reminder that the Athena 9.3.11 patch release is currently
scheduled for the evening of Monday August 16. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Mozilla will be updated to version 1.7.2.
* Mozilla will use anti-aliased fonts.
* Some crash bugs are fixed in from and the mitmail utilities.
* Console and zwgc will play nicer with metacity.
* Emacs is configured to display URLs properly.
* A Mozilla remote command parsing bug is fixed.
* The Python in the release has support for tkinter.
* xscreensaver will stop complaining about alleged memory leaks.
* The krb5 ftpd -E option is fixed.
* A race is fixed where the initial terminal picked a tiny fault.
* dustbuster zombies should no longer occur.
On Linux:
* The public workstation verification log is available via athinfo.
* The glibc, gnome-vfs2, kernel, libpng, samba, sox RPMs are updated
from Red Hat.
* The tk-devel RPM is added.
On Solaris:
* gnome-terminal will add a utmp record.
* Machines will be less likely to come up in 8-bit mode.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
