Hi-

I'm one of the maintainiers of the SIPB Firebird locker, which makes
Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird availible to the MIT community.
We're currently experiencing a problem with patch level on Sun Athena
9.3.8. The latest versions of Thunderbird & Firefox require several
Solaris patches that are not installed.

The patches needed are
113902-03 SunOS 5.9: Asian UTF-8 iconv modules enhancement
114276-02 SunOS 5.9: Extended Arabic support in UTF-8
114641-02 SunOS 5.9: Japanese iconv for UTF-8 patch
112785-34 X11 6.6.1: Xsun patch
(or higher). A screenshot of the error message generated by the patch
checker is availible at http://mit.edu/~firebird/www/sunerror.png

The first 3 are part of the Solaris 9 4/04 release
(http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/817-3804/6mjcffkq1?a=view) that Athena 9.3
uses (http://web.mit.edu/olh/Release/9.3/index.html), but they do not
appear to be installed on Athena.

We'd like to know if these patches could be added to a future Athena
release, so we can continue to provide Firefox & Thunderbird. If so,
would it be possible to give us a time estimate for when this might occur?

Thank you for the assistance,
-Charles
