Can we add a sentence saying WHY we are taking Emacs 19?
(Up until Greg got it working under Solaris 2.4, I thought we were
changing because we COULDN'T compile it any more.)
Maybe something like (but SHORTER):
Although the version of Emacs we have been running (version 18) feels
like comfortable, well-worn shoes, the world has moved on without us.
Servicing and supporting the older version is getting more and more
difficult. Running something different from what the outside world runs
is probably a mistake. THEREFORE:
