Due to a pair of unrelated failures, neither the initial announcement,
nor the usual reminder, of the Athena 9.2.28 patch release (9.2.29 for
Linux) made it to this list. The patch release went out earlier this
evening. We sincerely apologize for the lack of advance notice.

Changes in this release include:

On both platforms:
  * Mozilla is updated to 1.6.
  * gathrun has a usage message fix and a gdialog invocation fix.

On Linux:
  * sshd will use the old thread library, working around a crash.
  * The XFree86, kernel, libxml2, mc, netpbm, slocate, and tcpdump RPMs
    are updated from Red Hat.

On Solaris:
  * An xterm-color terminal type is added.
  * The SUNWqu packages are added for LVD Ultra3 SCSI card support.
  * Patch 112706-03 is applied (updates for above driver).
  * Patch 112233-11 is applied (jumbo kernel patch, fixes panics).
  * Patches 112540-18, 112620-10, 112621-11, and 112622-13 are applied
    (graphics driver updates).
  * Patch 113476-11 is applied (passwd local root exploit fixed).

If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".

Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu. Please
report any bugs you find with the "sendbug" command.
