Ah, sorry, what I said isn't true in your case. Non-mit.edu Athena
machines use direct delivery to send mail, and have since November
1999. (I couldn't quite determine the reasons for this; it has
something to do with bounces.)
At any rate, it's still the case that 9.2.27 doesn't contain any changes
to the relevant parts of the mail system. I don't know why your user
would have experienced mail delivery failure with any field release of
Athena.
