Hi folks,

I've installed Star Office 7 and I need some quick testing before I announce
it to the world. Can you give it a try and let me know if anything appears
broken or misconfigured? Some noteworthy changes:

There are now online manuals (in addition to the online help), in
directories /mit/soffice_v7.0/pdfdoc and /mit/soffice_v7.0/www
respectively- they can be viewed as files or accessed by http through
an https://web.mit/edu/soffice_v7.0... URL.

Output to pdf is now configured- you can Print using "PDF converter", and
it will put a pdf version of your file (same name with a .pdf extension
tacked on) in your home directory. The Sun version will work better than Linux
as it used a real "distill"; Linux uses gs.

I set the default configuration to autosave every 5 min- it will nag you
for a file name the first time but not again; also, I set it to always make
a backup (it makes a copy of the original with a BAK extension).

I set evolution as default mailer and mozilla as default Web application but
haven't tested using this because I haven't learned how to invoke them.

I've only tried a minuscule portion of the feature set, so please bang away
at it; oh yes, to run it:

	add soffice_v7.0
	soffice

Local configuration files are separate from previous releases, and as before
distinct by platform; Sun will be below ~/.staroffice7.sun4x_v59 and Linux
below ~/.staroffice7.i386_rh9 (pointed to by a staroffice7 symlink that gets
updated appropriately on each launch). Have fun...

                                                   Alex
