The Athena 9.2.24 patch release is currently scheduled for the evening
of Monday November 10. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Mail sent through outgoing will be sent using SMTP authentication.
* Mail which cannot be sent authentically will use direct delivery.
* The new mailquota program can be used to check mail quotas.
* Users will be warned at login time about nearly-full IMAP stores.
* xlogin will get addressesless tickets when appropriate.
* reactivate won't run when there are screen processes running.
* bash has been updated with some bugfixes.
* Evolution's text/enriched handling is improved a bit.
* lprng will deal with IP addresses in the control file.
* zctl add/sub and zinit will not grab default subscriptions.
* smtptest should work against our mailhubs.
On Linux:
* The new offlinehome script can be used to create an offline homedir.
* The cron job to reset the hardware clock is fixed.
* The cups-lib and coreutils RPMs are updated to keep up with Red Hat.
On Solaris:
* The smpts service is added to the services file.
* The SUNWlom packages are installed.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
