I prefer this plan, for Linux.  I think one of the current stengths of
the Linux release is that we put all of Athena and all of the OS on
local disk, and I'd hate to lose that, especially if we're considering
disconnected laptop use an important priority.

I don't think reducing the size of the Linux release is an important
goal.  Local disk storage on machines is getting larger much more
quickly than we're increasing the size of the release.
