For Linux only, gcc296 is available under Athena 9.2 as part of the Red
Hat Linux 9 release.  It's Red Hat's hacked version of gcc 2.95, and
depending on who you ask, it's either a usefully updated and supported
version of gcc 2.95 or a tool of the devil.  But it's there.
