The Athena 9.2.8 patch release is currently scheduled for the evening
of Monday July 7. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Nautilus's handling of various document types has been improved.
* The WIN.MIT.EDU krb5 realm should be findable.
* User background settings will be reflected at login.
* gnome-panel should always be able to read its configuration.
* Failure to dustbust won't cause gconf-using applications to hang.
* Two IMAP library data corruption bugs affecting "from" were fixed.
* Emacs will recognize C-h as backspace if tty erase is set to ^h.
* Saving of attachments in Evolution will work again.
* GNOME 1 programs will be able to run the help browser.
* The sawfish "adjust-position-for-gravity" error message is fixed.
* tcsh won't set REMOTEHOST to bogus values.
* An xscreensaver-button crash is fixed.
On Solaris:
* fontconfig configuration will be the same as on Linux.
* gnome-terminal's default font will be the same as on Linux.
* The services file had been updated, fixing an imtest port problem.
* The gstreamer registry will exist as it should.
* The nautilus "Extra content" diagnostic has been fixed.
* The RENDER warning has been suppressed.
* Patch 113319-11 will be installed, fixing xdr overflows.
* SUNWdtdst will be installed, providing stdaudiocontrol.
On Linux:
* dm will perform a console login if X fails to start.
* named will listen on the new IP address when it changes.
* Several bugs in disconnected operation scripts have been fixed.
* DHCP handling has been fixed to tie into dhclient instead of pump.
* syncconf won't create duplicate ".saved" network interfaces.
* syncconf will handle empty variable values.
* verify will error out nicely if there is no clusterinfo.
* Name resolution will time out fast when off the network.
* The bash and unzip Red Hat RPMs will be updated.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
