PTF U422467 should be installed, because the new AIX distributions come
in a slightly different packaging, and this updates the utilities needed
to be able to read those new distributed PTFs.
All that needs to be done is:
cd /
restore -xqf <path_to_U422467>
rm lpp_name
rm usr/lpp/bos/inst_U422467/liblpp.a
rm usr/lpp/bos/inst_ptf/bos.obj.inst_menus.odmupdt.a
rm usr/lpp/bos/inst_ptf/bos.obj/instupdt.odmupdt.a
rm usr/lpp/bos/inst_ptf/bos.obj.swvpd.odmupdt.a
U422467 can be found in /mit/rios/lpp/3.2, as bos.U422467. I would
recommend it be named something like
/srvd/usr/athena/lib/update/U422467.
If we do not do this, private workstation owners will not be able to
install PTFs or other packages from our central repository, and this will
almost certainly play a role in the update procedure to support the new
Gt1x adapters. These new adapters replace the old video adapter used in
the 220s, and are the only ones being distributed now, so we HAVE to
support them. I wish I had a solution to this problem at the time of
this message, but I might as well deal with one problem at a time.
