Nice!

Here are a couple suggestions:

0. Typo: "incompatibe"

1. Do you think it's ok to add the following to the Release Notes under
"Changes to Basic Application Software"-> "The Gnome User Interface
preferences format..."?

Athena defaults do not touch the default GNOME font, but the
default is now larger. The "Font" preference in the "Gnome
Control Center" (found in the panel Menu under "Settings") can
        adjust the system-wide font.

2. Under Viewports, would you consider adding some or all of the
following additional info on Viewports:

If you configured sawfish window manager bindings for viewports, use
the "Windows" preference in the GNOME Control Center preferences to
start up the sawfish configuration tool and switch any bindings
mentioning "Viewport" to "Workspace", and you will get much the same
functionality. (The old viewport bindings are listed from your config
file, but they are ignored by sawfish now.)

Unlike viewports, you cannot move windows to a new workspace by dragging
them off-screen. You CAN move them by using the Window Manager menu
(right click in the window title bar <Double check this, I may have made
this a customization>) and use the Toggle -> Sticky to make the window
stick, as you move to another workspace. Then Toggle -> Sticky again to
leave the window there.

3. I found the Evolution new behavior of default synthesis of a
signature to be annoying, but turning it off is a pain:

Tools->Settings... menu command
Select Mail Accounts
Select your MIT mail [Default] account and click Edit.
Under the Identity tab select "None" instead of "Autogenerated" for the
Default Signature.

We should also test a vanilla account to see that the Sent and Draft
message defaults selected by the user get properly migrated to.
Mine did NOT.
