I experimented with making each pkg a tar.gz file in AFS and installing using
gzcat for each pkg. The time was longer than straight pkgadd from AFS.

The time for pkgadd is 23 minutes with the old method (straight pkgadd from
pkgs in AFS) and 30 minutes for gzcat of pkg into /var/tmp and then pkgadd.

P.S Of course this is not a really scientific test, as the traffic on the Net
could be very different. I am ready to try more tests (like having tar files
instead of tar.gz files...) ... Let me know !
