This will render machines hung at boot time when they attempt to start
the non-existent /etc/athena/athstatusd without the patch I sent in, which
isn't in 9.1.22.

I think we either have to tell people not to do this (and be prepared to
walk the ones who do through booting single-user and hand-editing the rc
script), or consider an extremely minimal 9.1.23 instead.
