On the technical side of the multi-partition Sun issue, I think we may
be able to use RPM on those machines by making symlinks from
/usr/{athena,gcc,afsws} into /var. That won't work for OS packages
because they don't partition as neatly, and because the Sun pkg tools
are likely to complain about OS directories being symlinks. But I'm
pretty sure RPM won't complain as long as those directories aren't
listed as directories in any RPMs (and we don't list any directories
in any of our RPMs, with a few non-relevant exceptions).

Since it's January 8, we can't very well wait a week on our status
report. Here's what I can contribute.

> OLD: Work on Athena Solaris RPM stuff.

Progress.

> OLD: Updated email documentation with Mozilla mail configuration.

No information.

> OLD: Finish development of Disconnected Operation framework.

I think we can call this DONE, although we'll need to evaluate what's
missing or broken about our first attempt to deploy it.

> OLD: Deploy Athena installer that does not delete partitions
> willy-nilly.

I believe this is done, though of course Andrew would know better.

> OLD: Make demonstrable progress on Mozilla update. Deploy it if
> possible.

No information.

New goals were:

> NEW: Prepare and test IAP patch release containing local lockers
> framework, disconnected operation framework for linux.

Done.

> NEW: Import GNOME-2 and Evolution upgrades to Athena source tree.

Done, but substantial integration work remains.

> NEW: Import Open AFS upgrade to Athena source tree.

Done. (Will be deployed in January, as it turns out.)
