Items on the Agenda
1. SGI Status
install server (golden disk + vrt magic)
/os (golden disk)
/os/extra (golden disk)
/srvd (craig)
the golden disk is finished.
vrt is adding magic to the install server (tweaking in progress)
craig now building. will clean up for about 2 weeks, then
test a week or so (complete in 4 weeks--Nov. 9th?)
The new install server will allow installation from cd or via network.
Routers must be corrected to access both kickme and pepe-lepew for
correct handling of the SGI installation. Only a few routers have
been corrected.
2. AFS 3.3a on Solaris
brlewis and dot are going to copy the AFS 3.3a material into the beta
locker and send email to the beta testers to get more widespread testing.
3. MAE quirks
there seems to be a problem in 2-032 with access to appleshare causing
MAE machines to panic. the problem is under investigation.
4. RS6000 install 3.2.5
The 3.2.5 installation has a bug. The easiest way to detect the
problem is to ls /usr/lpp/X11. if there is no Motif1.2, some packages
have not been installed.
To correct the problem temporarily, use [ALT] [CTRL/ACT] to get the
tty login. login as root and run /os/update_os
5. Ezra and Ultrix
I need to get Ezra started.
