1. Patch release plans

9.1.19 should go to the dev cell in early December. Target
functionality includes:

  * The local-lockers framework
  * Disconnected operation framework for Linux, contingent on Derek
    finishing the work
  * Possibly a new aklog

We may have multiple dev cell patch releases if some of this can't be
done by early December.

The Athena cell target date is mid-IAP.

2. Solaris 9

We talked about the possibility of installing all packages local; the
install/update time for that may no longer be prohibitive. But we
still have multi-partition Suns, so we will probably put this off for
at least a year in order to avoid having two different local/non-local
package configurations.

It may also be worth considering how to avoid a track/RPM split,
either by putting off RPM work for a year, or by mandating reinstalls
of multi-partition Suns.

Greg will collect data on how many machines are affected, the minimum
root/usr size among deployed private 9.1 machines of appropriate age
for the 9.2 release, and other relevant information.

We went over package list categories, and decided to punt native
packages pertaining to the smartcard framework, the management
console, the krb5, gnu sources, iplanet, and netscape. (Eventual
action item: send text to Heather for eventual mention in the PWOG
that packages not in the release can be found in AFS and installed
locally.) We will keep packages pertaining to volume management, ISO
8859-13 X fonts, PDA synchronization, and gnu binaries.

3. PWOG updates

The new Private Workstation Owners Guide revision goes live tomorrow.
Reviews are appreciated.

4. Status report

We did our status report; Bill has sent it out.

5. Mozilla

We are strongly considering moving Mozilla maintenance into the Athena
release for the 9.2 release, pending the outcome of conversations with
Todd and other people not present.
