QUESTION:

Who here needs/wants to stay in the loop here?
My plan is to send periodic updates in the future only to
Rob Davies, Pam Huntley, and Steve Sakata on the IBM side, and Andrew
Boardman on the MIT side.

STATUS UPDATE:

Rob Davies set me up with the ESS (Enhanced Support Service) system, and
I called them today expressing my displeasure that a week had gone by
with no promised call-back.

They apologized profusely, re-verified the information and said that
this time the escallation would be done correctly, that I'd hear back in
24 to 48 hours from the person taking the case, and that the various
appropriate managers had been alerted that this case had been the victim
of a bad hand-off.

Within an hour, I got a call from Chuck Byrd who told me that an
escallation case was being opened, and that I'd hear back in 24 to 48
hours from the engineer taking the case. He gave me his number in case
something else went wrong. He expects a particular person with Linux
and wireless laptop experience will be given this case, but he needs to
wait until that's confirmed. (As a team leader, I understand and
approve of checking with a team member before committing his or her time
to a new task.)

More news as it develops,

-wdc
