John something may have changed during the release that is
not allowing RS6k's to run MATLAB, so please check these
systems at the earliest possible time.

We have been having problems since early last week with some computers not being
able to run MATLAB. I believe John Chase submitted a memo last week to
"hotline" about this problem. Anyway, MATLAB cannot be run on the following
machines:

        WARWICK.MIT.EDU 18.63.0.83
        PEMBROKE.MIT.EDU 18.63.0.85
        BERKELEY.MIT.EDU 18.63.0.88

I would appreciate it if someone could look into these problems at your earliest
possible convenience, as MATLAB has been inaccessible to users on these machines
for over a week already.

In addition to the above MATLAB problems, the machine ARUNDEL.MIT.EDU
(18.63.0.86) appears to be down. The machine says "no Hesiod information
available for arundel", and "machine unable to reactivate", when users try to
log in.

Thanks for your help with these problems.

Hi John -

I did reinstalls on the above machines 9/11/95 7:25am
I'll head back down there today and look into, I'll also
check out arundel. It has host&hes info and is also pinging
at this time.

I'll send you an update.
