Please inform your help desk colleagues that Andrew and I have tested
the bootup into the maintenance partition. It's broken here too.
I've already sent email to my contacts at IBM asking them for help, and
telling them I consider it an obstacle to our saying the IBM's are fully
supported. We're gonna try and understand and fix this problem QUICKLY.
