If you dd /mit/bootkit/rhlinux/etherfix.img onto a floppy you get your
very own stand-alone DOS boot floppy containing the magic fixup program,
3c90xcfg.
Run 3c90xcfg and tell it to configure the NIC with an autoconfig, and
then to save the values to the eeprom.
This will remedy the sickness created by etherboot.
I added a file README.etherfix to document this.
