Hi,

I just got two security notices regarding some Athena 8.4.26 Solaris
systems. The instructions:

    http://diswww.mit.edu/menelaus/release-announce/133

mention doing a "chmod 000 /usr/sbin/in.talkd", (which I have done on both
systems), and also mention commenting out the ntalkd line in
/etc/athena/inetd.conf.

However, as far as I can tell, there is no ntalkd line in that file. In
fact, "grep -il talk /etc/athena/*" produces absolutely nothing.

My question is ultimately whether I have secured these systems simply by
nulling the permissions on the vendor supplied in.talkd, or if there is any
further step (or steps) that I should take.

Thanks,
