I plan to point the source filesystem at the real sources (for 8.0) in
the dev cell in the next couple of days. (That is, "attach source" will
get you our real, up-to-date sources.)
The main reason this was not done in the past was that the protections
were not correctly set up on the directories in the new tree, so that
in general the new sources would be less useful to people because they
could not read them at all. This problem has finally been taken care
of.
If you have problems getting to sources you should be able to read,
let me know; conversely, if you don't have problems getting to sources
you shouldn't be able to read, let me know about that as well.
(It will be pointing to /afs/dev/source/src; you can aklog dev and
cd there now to peek around.)
